On April 3, 2025, the British higher education journal Times Higher Education (THE) announced the 2025 Japan University Rankings.
Kyushu University ranked fifth overall in Japan, moving up one place from the previous ranking (2023).
This ranking focuses on the “educational capabilities” of universities in Japan and is divided into four categories: educational resources, educational enrichment, educational outcomes, and internationalization. This is the eighth edition of the ranking, with 257 universities evaluated.
In particular, Kyushu University scored highly in the educational outcomes category, indicating that it is highly regarded by domestic employers and researchers.
Kyushu University will continue to pursue high-quality education and research while striving to develop talented individuals who can play an active role on the global stage.
